In contiuation with my very mini survey of this years Draft through the eyes of the bloggers I found this very amusing post here. Made me think about what exactly it is that is filling all football inthusiast minds of late and gave me some perspective. This is what he says
Over the course of two days last weekend, the Bills drafted several men who are, compared to 99% of the earth’s population, good at football. The majority of these men are large. From what I’ve gathered, being large is considered a plus in the NFL.
He then continues to give the draft a B+.
You’ve got to admit - He did hit the nail on the head!
The Chargers took two Corners, two Running backs and added some depth to the offensive line. Each player will spend this summer trying adjusting to the pace of the NFL and attempt to earn a roster spot on a team that will have at the most 6 or 7 spots available.

Defensive end Jared Allen, who is scheduled for unrestricted free agency with the Kansas City Chiefs, attended Los Gatos High. He grew up a Raiders fan, but at this state he would prefer to play for the 49ers.
“Jared would welcome the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd,” said Ken Harris, Allen’s agent. “His family is up north. I have no doubt he has a high level of interest in playing (for the 49ers).”
As for now he is signed with the Chiefs for the year.
Well as for now the main interest of Jarren Allen is to get a long term contract, would it be in the chiefs? Is the team ready to take the chance of his transferring to San Fransisco?
Check out the states of the team, after he returned to activity only a month before. After many recent changes including the final retirement of Priest Thomas the group seems to be coping and changing with .the recent decision to release Bell, Dunn, Law, Reed and this not a long time after the the release of offensive tackle John Welbourn and wide receiver Eddie Kennison, who are both over 30 and had contracts for the 2008 season.
Would these changes be for the better? I’m not sure lets wait and see how thing would be for the team these season.
Recently I’ve read Ira Kaupman notes about his experiences as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s board of selectors.
AS I viewed blogers opinion on the list of the candidates I saw this blogger agreeing that Derrick Thomas should have been in the list.
I should add that when I saw the full list of people on the ballot, what’s really outrageous is that they left out Derrick Thomas.
The same board of selector chose Derrick Thomas in 1989 for the following reasons.
The Kansas City Chiefs selected linebacker Derrick Thomas as the fourth player overall in the 1989 National Football League Draft. A consensus All-America and Dick Butkus Award winner at Alabama, Thomas excelled as a pass rusher who set the school record for sacks.

This excellent player that had to die from not having the seat belt on is a lost to the entire American football and it is only appropriate to dedicate the first post to him.
As for the media coverage I’ve read a post by Shandel Richardson about the media coverage after the death of Sean Taylor about the bias in the attitude of the media while covering his death and it is safe to say that the media are attracted to stress the carelessness of football players and sure the accident could be avoided by slower driving and wearing the seat belt but as this years passes all we remember is a great player.
