SAN FRANCISCO - One team is rested and ready, coming off a figurative week at the beach.

The other is battered physically and drained emotionally after last week's overtime victory against a crosstown rival.

Those factors, more than any others, could decide today's game between the Chiefs and 49ers at Candlestick Point.
