What was the story on that? I saw it in a bar with no sound (another game was the primary game), and all of us wondered why there was a second attempt after the apparent miss.

You should change your name from 'What' to 'What a Sore Loser'. Blaming the refs for a loss is the most bush-league of all possible reactions.

Chiefs were lucky today? Let's review...

1. Plummer hit, ball flies wildly into the air... directly into Portis' hands, who carries it for a first down.

2. O'Neal fumbles on kickoff return, ball flies wilding into the air... directly into the hands of backup linebacker who carries for a few extra yards.

3. Portis fumbles, ball bounces directly into Gary Stills' hands... and through them... directly into the hands of a Bronco whose name I don't recall.

4. Portis fumbles again, ball bounces forward and bounces off the ankle of the only Bronco within five yards... and bounces directly back to Portis who is immobile on the ground.

I'd say Denver got more than their fair share of lucky breaks today. Besides, luck had nothing to do with Morten's miss. The officials hadn't put the ball in play yet. He kicks it again whether he makes it or misses it.

The official said the ball was not in play. I think it may have been.

Well, the subject of his post was 'Luckiest team in football'... I suppose he *could* have been talking about the Broncos, but I'll go out on a limb and guess he meant the Chiefs.

No, I'm not saying that mistakes by humans are luck. I'm saying that the degree to which the ball bounced the Broncos way today when it was on the ground or up for grabs in the air was pretty lucky.

It was the only response that seemed appropriate for the way he lamely whined and cried and flooded the Chiefs NG with 'should have been a block in the back' posts.

Agreed, it was a great game. I wonder how many times in the past fifteen years the Broncos have trailed the Chiefs with under two minutes to play and come back to win. It was nice to stop a last-minute Bronco drive for a change.

Today's effort by the Chiefs will not be nearly enough in Denver. They must get much better offensively. On a good note, it's a positive sign that we were able to beat a team that is at the very least our equal if not our better despite not having our A game.

I think when you beat a team that is your equal, that *is* your A game. There is a difference between not performing well and being well defensed against. Ok, it's not a _big_ difference, but there is one
