Happy Days are Here Again!

*Not as many Rams fans as I thought they're be, but still a bunch. They didn't have much to cheer about. Saw a bunch of Rams people cooking out today- burgers! Amateurs. I guess when you have a downtown stadium it's harder to tailgate properly. I would not trade Arrowhead for a downtown stadium.

*The KC Wolf pre game skit was just plain weird. Two guys in Rams jerseys come out and dance around, but when KC Wolf comes out he has five fat guys with bare bellies and top hats that cover their head to their shoulder- three in pants and two in skirts. They have big faces painted on their bellies. KC Wolf is also wearing a top hat covering his head. They kind of looked like if you drew a face on your thumb and added a top hat. Very strange. The five guys just kind of dance around as KC beats hell out of the Rams guys. If there was a point to this (other than beating hell out of Rams fans) I missed it. It gets stranger when a guy in a red sweatshirt comes out and jumps on one of the Rams fans. KC took him down HARD with a body slam and the guy gets up and runs off. The belly dancers keep dancing around and the guy almost makes it into the stands before it dawns on security that this guy is not part of the skit and they carry him off. Never seen that before. But then, never saw dancing, well whatever the hell they were.

* Flyover today by Blackhawk helicopters as the Marines did the anthem. Always makes me think of Derrick Thomas (whose father was a pilot in Vietnam ). Fitting that the defense should score it's first touchdown today.

* Once again did not introduce the opposition. They did have both teams on the field for the anthem. Personally, I find leaving your hat on during the National Anthem more offensive than yelling CHIEFS! in place of 'brave'. Hey, a stocking cap is still a hat. Introduced the offensive starters and Trent got a big cheer! How things change....... When was his last damaging interception? Will he be booed if he throws three in Denver next week? Tony G. still gets huge cheer in spite of drop off on production. Biggest cheer goes for Priest. After this week and last week would Warfield still be booed? My guess is yes.

* Another of the many joys of being there is seeing Hall's runbacks develop and that he only needed to hit one hole or break one tackle to go all the way. Great to see TWO today! Bonus!

* Priest Holmes is reason enough to renew season tickets. Chants of 'MVP' in the crowd.

* The ref was #127- Hess. He's burned the Chiefs before. Not many calls today (although one glaring missed facemask call).

* The defense STUFFED the run. My feeling is that several players played above the scheme today and made plays they wouldn't have made. Lots of reasons- beat up Rams offensive line, beat up Faulk, predictable plays when behind by 21+, etc. Why does Warfield come out on a fourth down play with the game still in question? Robinson guessed right and they stuffed the run.

* Carl Peterson looking smug today dressed all in black, with no leather. No sunglasses or he'd look like Al Davis, Jr. Got to shake hands with the Governor! Hey Carl- the Chiefs colors are red and gold- black does not figure in the scheme.

* Winter must be upon us. Cheerleaders trade their tiny little skirts for pants. Oh, well. Skirts came out second half. Hooray!

* So the question is now whether or not to send the Chiefs $312 for playoff tickets. Awfully expensive for what will be bookmarks. On the other hand, it will go toward next year's season tickets, and renewal is a no brainer. But, that means Lamar get to draw interest on my money, which I could sure use at Christmas. But if pigs grow wings and we have a home playoff game I want to be in my seats. But what are the odds of that? Oh, hell. Think I could put 'Commemorative 40 Year Anniversary Play Off Bookmarks' on ebay?

Two weeks ago against Seattle, but it wasn't his fault.

He's had an excellent year for the most part. He's not always throwing for great numbers, but he's managing the games much better.
